ECS has chosen not to adopt new Common Core curriculum and assessments. Our students have generally done very well when they graduate from ECS and often move into advanced courses at the local high schools. We are confident that we will remain a leader in education in our community, equipping students to think critically and problem solve in their future educational endeavors, as well as in the world at large.
Fortunately, as a Christian school, we have the freedom to choose our own curriculum standards that promote our unique goals. ECS students learn via a challenging set of guidelines that meet or exceed the Common Core State Standards. We have a proven track record for producing strong academic results. While we annually assess performance outcomes, making improvements as necessary, we don't jump right into trendy solutions that lack a consistent history of results. As a Christian school, our teaching emanates from a biblical philosophy nonexistent in the public schools for over 50 years.
