We believe that we are under the canopy of God's protection, yet we are careful not to in any way act with presumption.  We fully expect God's grace to cover, but we also walk in His wisdom.  Escondido Christian Center and Escondido Christian Schools accepts responsibility to design, implement and continually evaluate our program of emergency procedures to ensure its maximum effectiveness and to facilitate a safe environment for all of our students, and to assist in the prevention of accidents, injuries, and illnesses.  All efforts for the completion of this responsibility are handled through the Administrative Offices under the direction of the Administration.

  • To provide a safe environment for any person who ventures onto the property in conjunction with our ministries.

  • To provide ongoing training for all staff members in regard to any equipment used by him/her and with respect to his/her specifically assigned tasks, as it relates to all of our students on our campus.

Class evacuation in the event of an earthquake:

  • Evacuation Procedure

    • At first sign of tremors give Duck and Cover Command to the class.

    • Once movement has subsided (judgment of the teacher), the teacher needs to check safety of the students.  He/she then needs to make sure designated exit is safe.  Children should still be under the desks until the teacher is done checking for safety.

    • Teacher then commands the students to exit the room in a quick orderly fashion just like they practiced, following the lead student who is carrying the Classroom Emergency Room Number Stick.

    • Students, teachers, aides, and volunteers should go directly to the designated area with the clipboard and line up in a single file line.

    • The teacher needs to call roll.  If all the students, aides, and volunteers are accounted for, show the green paper on the clipboard; if not, show the red paper.  Show the color until the Administrative Assistant or Principal announces that all is clear.

    • Wait for instruction from the Command Staff.  No one should move.  Listen for the horn.

  • General Notes

    • In the event of a real emergency, students will not be allowed to go the the two-storied buildings.
