The purpose of the Escondido Christian School Library is to provide materials for personal study, research
and enjoyment in an appropriate atmosphere. The staff works hard to ensure that materials selected are appropriate for a Christian school environment. If you are concerned about the content of a particular item, please bring it to the administration's attention. Thank you!
The use of the library is a privilege afforded to all students of ECS. Books may be checked out as soon as the previous book is returned. Parents are welcome to use the library as well.
ECS participates in the research-based Accelerated Reader (AR) comprehension program, which provides incentives for reading books within the student's personalized reading level. Students take comprehension quizzes on computers in their classroom or the library and accrue points toward prizes and parties. Jr. High students use the AR program to track their progress with the school-wide annual reading goals. Please click here for more on our participation in the AR program. Please note that there is a list of books that ECS has deemed inconsistent with a Christian lifestyle
K-5 students have a dedicated library class each week. The library is also open before school, during lunch, and after school. AR tests may be taken in the library or the homeroom classroom.
