It is our desire that each student understand that their body is a temple of God, which should be respected and cared for. The elementary physical education program endeavors to provide an environment where students successfully participate in physical activities requiring rules and goals and that they learn the importance of being a team. We teach introductions to volleyball, football, soccer, basketball and softball. Beyond that, students also get to experience speedmitton, hockey, frisbee, and jump rope lessons. One of the highlights of our program is the annual track meet where we have a friendly competition involving running events, relay races, and traditional and non traditional field events which shows students the true meaning of sportsmanship.
The Junior High P.E. program goes a few steps further than elementary by introducing all rules and competitive games with all big five sports. We also pride ourselves in teaching students how correctly perform various aerobic and strength training to evolve into a life long love of exercise. We provide a "crossfit" style of exercise which is ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in a small amount of time. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness. The Junior High also participates in a yearly track meet competing against four other schools from North County and an annual cross country meet.
Escondido Christian has an after-school sports program for Junior High students as well. We change sports every six weeks, and compete against four other schools from our North County Small Schools League. We have two practices and one game each week. Our after school sports program offers boys' and girls' volleyball, flag football, soccer, basketball and softball.
