ASB is a group of passionate students who wish to serve at our school. It is an opportunity to expose students to real life leadership experiences. It is comprised of two parts, the elected officials, which are president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and chaplain. This body decides the events that the ASB will participate with. The second part is the House of Representatives. These students have been appointed by the teachers in the Jr. High program, and their responsibility is to keep the classes informed about the events, but also to stir up school spirit and create a fun community for our student body to be proud of. They will plan class They host several fun events during the school year on campus. For example; spirit days, pep rallies, and holiday grams.
Student Government also plays a role in the community. They host several service projects. One of our major projects that the whole school is involved in is Operation Christmas child. Families from our school bring in items and student government packs them into shoe boxes. These shoe boxes are then shipped around the world for less-fortunate children to have as presents on Christmas.
Aside from recycling and Operation Christmas Child, ASB is involved in the following activities:
Flag salutes and prayer at Chapel
Leading National Day of Prayer
Veteran's Day Chapel
Organizing school spirit days
Community projects with Escondido Parks and Recreation
Hosting visiting school groups
Speaking at grade level meetings such as 6th grade Orientation
