To love, care for, and teach young children.

Helping young children achieve their developmental milestones in a safe, nurturing, biblically influenced environment. Established in 1976.

Preschool

Escondido Christian Preschool and our Infant Toddler Center are operated under the direction of Escondido Christian School, a traditionally structured K-8 school which has served local families since 1948. Our goals and educational approach are sequenced carefully to reach early learning outcomes through a child appropriate directed and hands-on curriculum. The result is to make the transition between preschool and elementary school successful.

Experience

The teachers use intentional lesson planning utilizing Monthly Themes as their resources. We incorporate a teacher directed Bible time, learning circle time, art. science, math, music, motor development, manipulatives and centers in the lesson plans for the week. Our classrooms are set up with centers for the children to be involved in as well as having teacher directed activities. Social development is an important part of our day. We draw from many different early childhood curriculum materials as well as teacher creativity to present a well rounded program for our children.

Enrollment may be 2, 3, or 5 half or full days a week.

Experience

Our Pre-K classes are setup to continue development and prepare children for Kindergarten. We work on building a solid foundation of fine motor skills, listening skills, social skills, organizational skills and knowledge to prepare our children. When these skills are in place, children can focus on the teacher and lessons being presented rather than struggling with their scissors or not picking picking up on the directions that the teacher has given. The teachers use intentional lesson planning utilizing Monthly Themes as their resources. Math, science, literacy, letter recognition, letter sounds are all part of our day and… best of all, it is within a Christ-centered Biblical foundation. Character traits are interwoven in the lesson plans along with many activities including music and gross motor development.

Enrollment may be 2, 3, or 5 half or full days a week.

Experience

Our Jr. Kindergarten class is specifically designed for children who have late summer/early fall 5 yr old birthdays or are more mature and developmentally ahead of children beginning Pre-K.

This classroom is set up like a kindergarten classroom yet has developmental work stations to explore. We use intentional lesson planning, with Monthly Themes as the resources. This class is a bit more teacher directed than the Pre-K but not as formal as kindergarten. It is the perfect ‘gift of a year’ transitional class for physical and emotional development, maturation, and learning. Children may enroll in this class if they are within the age group guidelines, are recommended by their preschool teacher, or pass a screening given by the Jr K teacher. This class is a 5 days-week and may be either half or full day.
